Susanna Leinonen Company’s touching dance piece reminds us that life happens here and now, and we shouldn’t take it so seriously.

The piece brings to the stage a powerful interpretation of life by older people, which is full of surprises. The performance is based on Tatiana Urteva’s latest work, Vain elämää, ei sen vähempää. It highlights life in all its grittiness, including mistakes and accidents. The piece playfully explores the small moments of daily life, reminding us that life doesn’t always need grand plans or great significance to be worthwhile.

The dancers’ movement evokes humour and playfulness, glimpses of moments of laughter and chance encounters that make life unique.

Vain elämää, ei sen vähempää, invites us to let ourselves go with the flow of life without the constant need for control and to find joy in the small, simple moments.

The work is part of the City of Helsinki’s promotion of cultural activities for older adults and is the fourth dance work performed by older people that has been produced during the project.
