New Ro’s boundary-breaking cabaret will premiere at Savoy in December!

The Cabaret of New Ro of the multi-talented New Ro (Ronja Stanley) of massive social media fame is a boundary-breaking performance that will premiere at the Savoy Theatre on the eve of Independence Day. The unique show combines live music, comedy and theatre in the spirit of cabaret culture in a way that is rarely seen in Finland.

A goodwill ambassador who has become a social media phenomenon followed by millions of people at a weekly basis, she is best known under her colourful artist name New Ro. However, she rose to fame already about a decade ago through her Ronya project, as one of the top names of the alternative pop music scene. During her long career, the British-Finnish singer and performer has garnered widespread acclaim for her expressive vocals and powerful stage energy. The visually distinctive combination of pink and lilac is an integral part of Stanley’s artistic identity and expression.

Stanley’s humour is direct, bold and warm at the same time; she commands the stage in a way that makes the audience laugh, feel and cheer. The performance at Savoy will combine Stanley’s new, as yet unreleased production with her earlier discography from her career.

The show is inspired by New York cabaret culture and its stars, including Bridget Everett and Liza Minnelli. The show also has some British influence, such as clever, absurdist humour in the spirit of Monty Python.

The evening is an impressive spectacle, but it beats with the same heart as Stanley’s social media content, offering support, encouragement and a strong presence. Her friendly reminders, non-divine blessings and other familiar skits that have become viral hits are translated into musical form on stage. This is not just any gig – the performance empowers and enlightens, energises and leaves you with a big smile on your face.
