Jazz for lunch – yes please! The Savoy Theatre’s and UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra’s much-anticipated lunch concerts continue in the spring season of 2026! The free concert tickets can be reserved from Thursday 8th January at 3 pm onwards at the Savoy Theatre and Lippu.fi, see below for more detailed instructions.

The cooperation between the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences continues for the fourth consecutive year. UMO brings in students from Metropolia’s programme in music to join as musicians and soloists. On stage, we see a unique combination of experienced professionals and rising jazz talent.

The concert features beloved classic big band tunes and jazz standards from to 1950s and 1960s. The programme contains works by the most talented composers of that period, such as Quincy Jones, Neal Heft, Thad Jones and Frank Foster. We can expect big band jazz with high dynamic range as well as dazzling young soloists. The joint forces of UMO and the young talent are guided by the conductor Mikko Hassinen.

The concert is part of UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra’s audience outreach and cooperation with Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, and part of UMO’s 50th anniversary season.

Please note! The concert will be held in the Savoy Theatre at 12-13. The admission is free but we recommend that you book a ticket in advance at the Savoy Theatre box office (0 €) or Lippu.fi (1,50 – 3 € commission). Admission only with pre-booked tickets until 11:50am, after which the remaining seats will be given to customers without a pre-booking. Please arrive early as the doors will be closed once the concert has started. The duration of the concert is 1 hour.
