The modern Sogetsu school of ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement, combines the centuries-old traditions of ikebana with our own time and culture. The free-style ikebana arrangements of the Sogetsu are influenced by sculpture and can be made using materials other than plants. The open-air exhibition “The Magic of Winter” of the Sogetsu Finland Study Group features modern ikebana installations in wintry landscapes in the Annala garden area.
