Uniarts Helsinki students’ concerts, dance and theatre performances in the summer streets of Kallio district.

University of The Arts Student Union (TaiYo) is organizing  Vapaan taiteen tila pop-up event week as part of the Kallio Summer Streets event.

Francis Maskens: Moving Chandelier 

The piece involves the dancer moving through space in dialogue with shape and sound. The concept of the piece is that the dancer reflects the surroundings through dance. Duration 15 min

Takatalvi is an eerie and icy street theatre performance by Eemeli Väisänen and Inari Kolehmainen, staged in Kallio’s parks as part of the Kallio Summer Streets 2025 project. The performance is developed through a process-based approach, drawing inspiration from Tove Jansson’s book Moominland Midwinter and Hayao Miyazaki’s film Spirited Away. 

HUIPPU plays contemporary folk music with great intensity and youthful energy. HUIPPU’s music features fresh and beautiful melodies, rhythmic drive, and a strong groove. Karhupuisto

The Raja-Jooseppi Orkesteri does not shy away from blending genres, incorporating elements of jazz and soft rock with an open-minded approach. With energetic funk pieces, they ensure that even the slowest ballads are outshined. Karhupuisto
