UniSounds – Sounds of Equality – Roots in the Ground, Wings in the Air

This concert will inclusively bring together voices from different styles and cultures, as well as musicians with different backgrounds and diverse characteristics.
Resonaarigroup’s musicians with disabilities will take to the stage together with musicians from the Global Music and music education programmes of the Sibelius Academy of Uniarts Helsinki.
The result is a celebration of music and diversity and an equal and inclusive artistically diverse concert in which artists with different backgrounds perform as equals.
The concert will make diversity audible through music and visible through the characteristics and backgrounds of the performers – creating a new kind of musical equality.

Roots in the Ground, Wings in the Air is a concert series that celebrates the power of diversity and the unifying power of music. The series highlights how different roots – cultural, historical and individual – can together grow wings that carry us towards a new and unique future.
Every performer and performance is a triumph for the diversity of life and the empowering effect of art. The series is a journey into stories in which identity, courage and the uniqueness of life come together.
Council 150 years
This event is free of charge for children and young people aged 7–19 years. The Helsinki City Council will celebrate its 150th anniversary by offering free benefits for young people in 2025!
