URB 26 festival

At Kiasma Theatre, the programme features Walk with Me by dancer-choreographer Ama Kyei and her team, a performance that guides the audience toward a secret garden through interdisciplinary artistic exploration. Choreographer Biret Haarla Pieski’s Main Character examines the experience of being looked at in public space — in this case, at Sinne Gallery on Iso Roobertinkatu.

The festival’s international guest performance is Zero Feet Away by Belgian artists Tibau Beinaert and Laurens Aneca, a piece that delves into the world of dating apps through a shape-shifting character. The performance will be shown at Kiasma Theatre for one night only.

Outdoors near Kiasma and in the courtyard of Stoa, audiences can experience a communal choreography by Ritni Ráste Pieski and Sophia Wekesa, presented as part of common moves revisited, a project led by Sonya Lindfors. The work challenges our assumptions about what we consider to be shared or common.

The World Canvas presents evening in Stoa’s courtyard highlights experimental music in a programme curated by Jussi Hertz. Alsa Ojala’s long-term project Heat from fire explores the fictional layers between the human voice and electronic music. The evening also features a new work by Helena Pulkkinen and fresh material from Pekka Airaxin.
