Valoa – a concert of atmosphere: Velora Ensemble

Mar 27, 2026 | 7:00 pm

Savoy Theatre

Kasarmikatu 46-48, 00130 Helsinki

Velora Ensemble is an group consisting of a string quartet, harp and percussion, rooted in friendship and shared music-making since childhood.

The members of the ensemble are Sibelius Academy graduates who now work as freelance musicians and orchestral players in the Turku and Helsinki areas. The musicians are known for their active performances at chamber music festivals and concerts throughout Finland. The addition of harp and percussion to a string quartet brings a special light and sparkle to Velora’s sound, creating interesting contrasts and elements of fantasy.

The line-up consists of Onni Kunnola (violin), Ruben Goesch (violin), Alexander Pozdniakovas (viola), Pekka Smolander (cello), Donatien Conversat (percussion) and Hilda Kunnola (harp).

The concert will feature well-known gems of film music, with each of the ensemble’s instruments having a turn in the spotlight. Music by composers such as Howard Shore, John Williams and Hans Zimmer – Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Interstellar, etc.
