Voimaeläin is an interactive dance theatre performance that invites the children to participate.

The characters in the show – Kaisla, Kiira and Tuisku – read fables to each other. A fable is a very old form of storytelling, usually a moral tale that often features animal characters. Inspired by these fables, Kaisla, Kiira and Tuisku start to look for their own power animals.

The show brings up thoughts about the value of animals and people. What should animals receive from people? What can people receive from animals? A power animal strengthens a child’s confidence and agency as a person. They can reflect on their own abilities and strengths through the animal’s characteristics.
Willman Dance Company is a dance group from Helsinki, comprising artists connected by their passion for dance and stage arts. The group prepares shows for both adult and child audiences, creating dance theatre and contemporary dance performances where the movements and the dancers’ corporal ability to express themselves are at the heart of the show.
