Women & Cocaine is a London based film series that celebrates the pioneering women of pre Code Hollywood, who rebelled against suffocating standards of femininity and pushed boundaries of what it meant to be a woman both on screen and off. The term pre Code refers to the period between 1930-1934, beginning with the end of silent cinema and ending at the introduction of mandatory film censorship. During these four short years, Hollywood produced provocative pictures that featured some of the most sexually liberated depictions of women ever seen on screen.
