A sneak preview of summer 2025 at Amos Rex’s courtyard!

Amos Rex is excited to announce that internationally acclaimed British Nigerian artist and designer Yinka Ilori MBA will design a new commission on the museum’s iconic courtyard in summer–autumn 2025!

Launching in May 2025, Ilori’s large-scale public installation, will transform the museum’s domes into a participatory and functional artwork, inviting visitors to play and interact with the public realm in new ways.

This commission is the first annual series to bring diverse artistic talent to the Amos Rex’s courtyard and is part of a new summer season featuring art, events, and interventions.

 

Yinka Ilori MBA (b. 1987) is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer known for his use of bold colours and patterns, often inspired by his Nigerian heritage. Using the city as a canvas, he reimagines spaces to encourage a sense of community and invites audiences to engage in his work.
