Helsinki Cine Aasia presents Asian contemporary cinema

The festival of contemporary Asian cinema Helsinki Cine Aasia brings to the big screens in Helsinki some of the best and most talked about films from East and Southeast Asia right now.  In addition to film screenings, the festival also hosts various discussions related to Asian cultures.

Helsinki Cine Aasia’s opening film is Return to Seoul (2022) by Davy Chou. Return to Seoul has garnered praise at international festivals as well as several accolades. The film is about the difficulties of a young Korean-born woman who has been adopted to France and now questions her identity.
