Due to the covid-19, Jean Sibelius Competition will be transferred from the year 2020 to be organized in 2022.

Jean Sibelius Competition is the Finland's biggest international competition in classical music, that will be held every five years.

The first rounds will be arranged at the Sibelius Academy premises and the final round at Helsinki Music Centre, where the contestants will perform as soloists with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Dima Slobodeniouk and the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by chief conductor Susanna Mälkki.

Approximately 40 participants will be accepted to the first round, from where six participants will be accepted to the final round.

The Jean Sibelius Violin Competition is one of the most significant music competitions in the world. It was founded in 1965 to mark the 100th anniversary of Sibelius' birth.
