My Helsinki

My Helsinki The childhood of Dana Danishmand from Kurdistan was a period of misery due to the Iran-Iraq war. Drawing was her key and favourite companion in her childhood. The clash of religions and civilisations in her city of birth, together with the oil fumes of the city, painted as a black and white world of misery and pain. In 1999, when Danishmand came to Finland, she finally got to experience freedom and explore forbidden boundaries. --- Opening hours Mon-Fri at 9–18, Sat at 11–18
