On Saturday 5 March, the American Nicholas Payton Trio will give an energetic and electric show.

The public became aware of Payton, a trumpetist, multi-instrumentalist and composer, in the 1990s when he was part of the Young Lions phenomenon that revived acoustic mainstream jazz. The other notable persons involved in the phenomenon include Roy Hargrove, Branford Marsalis and Joshua Redman.

Nicholas Payton is also known as an active debater and essayist who has made the conscious effort to knock down the walls between the African-American music genres. He was awarded a Grammy in 1997 in the Best Instrumental Jazz Solo category.
The other performer of the two-part concert will be announced in January 2022.

Duration is about 2.5 h, incl. interval.

The age limit for the seats in the stalls is 18 years old. The balcony is open for people of all ages.
