Pasila Street Art Tour
A good place to see street art in Helsinki is a district called Itä-Pasila (East Pasila). It gained its reputation as a graffiti and street art venue already 30 years ago, and now it is enjoying a revival after a long period of “zero tolerance” — a policy that forbade any street art activity in Helsinki. During the last few years a number of artists from Finland and abroad has turned this part of Helsinki into a huge street art gallery.
During the 2 hour tour you’ll see a lot of street art varying from graffiti to stencils, big murals and ceramic art. The guide will tell stories behind the art pieces, explain how they were made and what kind of techniques are used in street art. You’ll also hear more about the area, history of street art and graffiti as well as other interesting details of Helsinki.
You don't have to register beforehand, just show up in time at Original Sokos Hotel Tripla at Pasila Railway Station. You can also check out the changing urban art exhibition in the hotel lobby. The tour ends at Pasila Urban Art Center, where you can see the changing exhibition as well.
Tours are organized in every other Saturday at 11 am and held in English.
Recommended donation for the tour is at least 10 €.
