2020: Obscene
Alexandra Bachzetsis’s performance piece uses texts and images to explore the ambiguity of “scene” and “obscene”.
Alexandra Bachzetsis’s performance piece uses texts and images to explore the ambiguity of “scene” and “obscene”.
Alexandra Bachzetsis’s performance is an investigation of the relationship between the body and its consumption by the covetous gaze. While examining the theatre as a problematic machine whose purpose is to manipulate seduction, attraction and sexual identity, the work also explores the body as a place of alienation and limitation.
2020: Obscene includes four performers, one of whom is the artist herself. The performers are confronted bodily with contradictions between intuition and gesture, light and night, norm and form, conception and action.
