70th Anniversary Concert of the Cantores Minores Alumnies

70th Anniversary Concert of the Cantores Minores Alumnies

The 70th anniversary weeks of the Cantores Minores choir will be opened by the celebration concert of the CM Alumni at the Cathedral featuring the CM Alumni Choir with the strength of a hundred singers, CM alumni Johan Krogius, tenor, and Tuomas Pursio, bass, as soloists, and CM alumni Seppo Murto, Ari Häyrinen, Hannu Norjanen and Filip Häyrynen as conductors.

In addition, CM Ensemble and organist Tapio Tiitu will perform at the concert. The concert features male choral music by composers such as Archadelt, Bruckner, Schubert, Kuula, Madetoja, Sibelius, Rautavaara, Kuusisto and Gustafsson.

During the seventy-year history of the Cantores Minores boys' choir, more than 3,500 boys and young men have sung in its ranks. These CM Alumni who perform at the CM Alumni's celebration concert also represent that choir's 'offspring' and all the decades of the choir's history, ever since the choir was founded. The combined CM choir years of the singers reach more than 1000 choir years. Most of the members of the CM Alumni Choir have continued their singing career in a choir in the capital region, especially in chamber and male choirs, and are examples of the significant musical education work that Cantores Minores does in Finland.
