The late 1960's brought new "progressive minded" labels to the Finnish record market. To these labels, the cover art was very important as well. Companies hired the foremost artists, protographers and graphic designers for the job in hand.

It is also a period of great suburban development in Helsinki. Vuosaari was annexed to the City of Helsinki in 1966 and its big building project began in 1963.

The records that make up the exhibition are from private collections and the Helsinki City Library archives.
