The guest of honor of the Cantores Minores choir's 70th anniversary weeks, the Thomanerchor Leipzig (Germany) will perform e.g. H.L. Hassler, H. Schütz, J.S. Music by Bach and J. Sandström. The choir is assisted by the continuo group of the Finnish Baroque Orchestra. Organist Markus Malmgren is the organist. The choir is led by Thomascantor Andreas Reize, who is the 18th Thomascantor after J.S. Bach.
The last time the Thomanerchor gave a concert in Finland was in October 1970. The Tuomaskuoro's visit was made possible by a two-year grant from the Jane and Aatos Erko Foundation, which was granted to the Cantores Minores choir for international cooperation with German boys' choirs. In 2023, the choir's guest will be the Dresden Kreuzkuoro, another legendary boys' choir from Northern Germany, with which Cantores Minores will perform Johannes Brahms's Ein Deutsches Requiem in Helsinki and Dresden.
