Eliel Saarinen and Helsinki

The exhibition tells about the work of Architect Eliel Saarinen as a builder of independent Finland and pioneer of city planning. The work of Saarinen manifests in Helsinki in the vibrancy of the city and the architectural pearls. The city plans of, for example, Munkkiniemi-Haaga and Greater Helsinki have shaped the local identity and city structure of Helsinki for decades and well into the future. The exhibition produced by the City Planning Department of Helsinki is part of the Finland 100 centennial programme.
