KÖTT Collective: GARNNN

Albertinkatu 9, 00150 Helsinki
Galleria ALBERT IX

GARNNN is a dance performance consisting of bodies and yarn. It is a curious, absorbing and savouring feast for the body and its many tongues.

GARNNN is a dance performance consisting of bodies and yarn. It is a curious, absorbing and savouring feast for the body and its many tongues. The piece is an amalgamation of flesh and yarn, a thickly woven web of associations created through grotesque dance, everyday gestures and games.

GARNNN explores how small and mundane materials can transform into something grandiose, monumental and strange. GARNNN creates flesh poetry – the mouth, saliva, stomach, muscles and voice organs forging a symphony of many materials and languages. The piece translates the Greek myth of Moirai into a contemporary performance. The three Fates spun, measured and cut the threads of mortal lives. Leaving behind the narrative side of the myth, the piece takes its inspiration from its woven core.
