Janne Valkeajoki’s concert is a journey through the jungle of contemporary music towards a core of intelligence and emotion.

Janne Valkeajoki’s concert is a journey through the jungle of contemporary music towards a core of intelligence and emotion. Vito Žuraj’s futuristic Round-Robin is accompanied by Rebecca Saunders’ solo work Flesh, inspired by James Joyce’s Ulysses. Pierluigi Billone’s mani.stereos stops time and captivates the listener, and Matilda Seppälä’s hypervirtuoso Linnunsuulla kerrottu tests the limits of both the accordion and the musician. Aino Tenkanen’s Double Triple sees the Kumaus trio (Janne Valkeajoki, accordion, Helka Seppälä, double bass and Lauri Pekkarinen, percussion) step on to the stage several times. Double Triple challenges the audience to doubt both their sight and hearing by slowly breaking down the border between the past and the future.
