Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Isabelle Faust & Antoine Tamestit
The world famous orchestra will perform with soloists, violinists Isabelle Faust and Antoine Tamestit.
Describing itself as a nomadic collective, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra features musicians from twenty countries and has no headquarters or artistic director. Its home and raison d’être is music itself.
The democratically run orchestra does, however, engage in artistic partnerships. One such collaboration will be seen at the Helsinki Music Centre, where the orchestra will perform with soloists, violinists Isabelle Faust and Antoine Tamestit, both acclaimed artists in their field and awarded many times over. The music performed will be created in collaboration between the soloists and orchestra with no conductor.
It is a community that creates and is created by music. Participants from across the world, including Finland and Helsinki, will come together as nomads, all playing the same music for one evening.
