Mitä kuuluu? (Can you hear that?) – Sound workshop for young people

The weekend workshop for young people is part of the Jälki (Mark) exhibition series opening at the end of January in Stoa Gallery.

Workshop schedule:
Thu 6 January from 16:00–19:00
Sat 8 January from 11:00–17:00
Sun 9 January from 12:00–18:00

An introduction to making sound art, to observing the environment using our sense of hearing and an in-depth study of sound design. The course culminates in an audio play!

During the weekend, we will listen to the sounds of different spaces, places and things, make recordings using different techniques and listen to and discuss the atmosphere and images created by the recordings. Weather permitting, we also make recordings outdoors.

Finally, we will make short audio plays using sound materials created based on the techniques learned during the workshop and newly recorded content if needed.

With the permission of the workshop participants, the audio plays can become a part of the Jälki exhibition at Stoa Gallery in February 2022.
