Nina Mya – My Gospel Heart – MalmiJazz

The My Gospel Heart project reveals Nina Mya’s love for the gospel and gospel-influenced music to the audience in an intimate way.

Nina Mya (b. 1989) is an award-winning Finnish jazz singer and composer who has published four solo albums with her band. Besides jazz, Mya has performed soul and gospel music in various contexts.

In addition to herself, Mya’s ensemble includes pianist Henri Mäntylä and saxophonist Pope Puolitaival, who have been part of the band since the Closure album (2016). The small ensemble serves a touching, skilful and stripped-down serving of gospel.

The aim of the MalmiJazz concert series is to provide the audience with great artists, great entertainment and great emotions. At the heart of it all is music that makes you move and experience a full scale of emotions.
