"When I walk every morning with my dog along the little country road it is a moment of meditation and discovery. I like to observe how different seasons and different weather conditions change the landscape. In the early spring the sky is very pale blue when in the bright midsummer sunlight, the blue is at its strongest. In the beginning of the summer all the greens are so deliciously fresh and strong in colour and then again towards the hot sunny season it all becomes much duller. Nature is all about light, colour and rhythms in its organization and construction. The landscape, the trees and plants are in a continuous changing mode.

I use these notes for my work. Observing how the climbing plants cover and invade space or with which mathematical system a plant grows. For working out this kind of simple themes I choose for materials containing light like shiny faceted stones, pearls, gold paint or reconstructed opal having a hint of translucency. It's all about a dialogue in-between the different elements.

There are many ways to make jewellery. My way of making is based on elements that are constructing a piece. This kind of element thinking allows me a freedom in deciding how the construction is going to be, almost to the end of the making process. The continuous dialog between freedom and control is essential for me."
