Pimiö '23 - Darkroom Photo Exhibition

The photo exhibition Pimiö '23 exhibits some 70 works from 15 image makers. All prints have been made in chemical processes: in addition to the classic gelatin-silver print, a collection of syanotypes, wetplate, daguerreotype, lith prints and collage works are shown. Portraiture, street photography and self portraits are accompanied by urban and natural landscapes as well as abstracted images.

The exhibiting group Pimiöryhmä (Darkroom group) is a diverse group of photographers specialising in darkroom printing and other chemical image making processes. The group includes advanced makers as well as beginners sharing the enthusiasm for film photography, classic black and white print making and some experimental techniques. The group is part of Kameraseura ry (Helsinki Camera Club) and is open to anyone interested in joining the club and meetings at the Kameraseura darkroom.
