Guided Walking Tours: Queer Gaze to the History of Architecture and Space

Whose history are people actually talking about when they talk about Wivi Lönn’s history? How are gender and sexuality related to the history of architecture and urban planning? Or how have different spaces affected the visibility of marginalized identities?

Starting from the Long Live Wivi Lönn! exhibition and continuing to the streets of Helsinki, the themed guided tour ‘Queer Gaze to the History of Architecture and Space’ encourages its participants to look at the exhibition and the history of architecture and urban space critically.

During the themed guided tour, with an expert guide, people will discuss the relationship between power and the city space, the themes of visibility and invisibility, and where people belonging to minority subcultures met each other in 20th-century Helsinki.
