Sur-rur & Tamara Luonto – A la Malmi -club

The “best band in the world” Sur-rur, which has already played on the stage of the A la Malmi club for a quarter of a century, will be on stage on the same evening as the hottest topic of tomorrow, Tamara Luonto.

Sur-rur is a band founded in Lapua in 1996, sometimes even called a cult band, and their eighth album Entisyydestämmekinköhän was released in spring 2022. Sur-rur’s line-up has remained the same since the beginning of 2000: Ville Vuorenmaa – song and guitar, Kimmo Pohjapelto – drums, Ville Laurila – bass and song.

Sur-rur's simple guitar/bass/drums expression has been polished to its peak with many years of collective playing experience, and over the years the band has formed its own dedicated audience. Sur-rur's music descends from punk in many different directions.

Opening the evening, Tamara Luonto is a band that has already seen recognition through the word-of-mouth of the underground rock scene based on a few small releases and their gigs. The line-up consists of the Motorboat band’s Kristiina Tuhkanen and Salla Moilanen, the infinitely tough Kiss Disease star Anni Kosonen and the real dynamo of alternative music Tytti Roto (Ty Roxy, Kissa, Modem, Plastic Tones).

Tamara Luonto is about to release their debut album Honeymoon in the autumn, so Malmi will be experiencing the highs of an album release.

A la Malmi club series by Malmitalo presents the most interesting new Finnish music on its way to fame in acoustic form in an amazing concert hall environment. A la Malmi does not care about genres. Instead, it serves up the best creators of independent music in the country.
