An interdisciplinary performance for children aged 5 to 12 years old, which breathes life into familiar characters from the Finnish epic poem Kalevala using dance, storytelling, songs and magical video projection.

During the performance we meet Väinämöinen – our ecological warrior – who was born already an old, wise man. Väinämöinen could make magic with his songs and music and grow plants and trees using his magic. We follow him on an epic journey to the mystical North where he encounters the powerful healer and witch Louhi. What happens when Louhi tricks Väinämöinen and he needs all his courage and magic to escape Louhi’s greedy grip and return to Kalevala?

“Spells, songs, dances, sound loops and projected effects create legendary stories out of thin air.”
