Tatu & Tutkimusmatkalijat (Tatu & the Explorers) is a band that carries out its research through instrumental music. 

The bands musical explorations are mixing the stylistic features of their key influences, Pekka Pohjola's symphonic jazz-rock, blues-based prog jamming in the style of The Allman Brothers and Kingston Wall, and the currents of world music like for example Piirpauke.
