Maryam likes her job at a small hospital in Saudi-Arabia’s countryside even though some male patients don’t accept her treatment.

She feels finally appreciated when she’s invited to international doctor conference. Joy turns quickly into disappointment when the officials demand the approval of Maryam’s father for the trip on too short notice. Disappointed Maryam decides to challenge the patriarchal traditions and registers as a candidate in upcoming municipal elections.
