Total Karita

Experience Finland’s most famous opera diva’s incredible versatility in one evening! In Total Karita, powerful drama meets extravagant, exhilarating spectacle.

The two parts of the evening showcase two opposite extremes of emotions. First off, Poulenc’s powerful La voix humaine (The Human Voice) tells the heartbreaking story of an abandoned woman. The opera monologue of approximately 45 minutes is performed in melodramatic film noir style.

After the interval the atmosphere changes dramatically, turning into a raucous show of beloved musical classics, popular music, and more. The event of musical fireworks, put together specifically for Karita Mattila, is directed by Jussi Nikkilä and conducted by Dalia Stasevska.

Karita Mattila is one of today’s most radiant sopranos. Her unique voice and charismatic interpretations dazzle audiences time after time on opera and concert stages around the world.
