Värinä Chamber Choir: Blissful, Ruthless Nature

Värinä Chamber Choir, conducted by Noora Hirn, will give a concert that examines the relationship of man with nature and natural phenomena in all seasons. 

The interesting repertoire reflects the smallness of man in front of nature and the emotions evoked by the forces of nature: respect and fear but also deep happiness and peace. Musically, the ambience of the songs varies from serene to wild, and several of the pieces require extended vocal technique.

In the Nordic-Baltic repertoire, classics meet contemporary music, stretching the emotional scale and power of expression to the extreme. Domestic national romantic choral songs exude the gentle light and beauty of spring and summer. Newer compositions offer a strong contrast to their natural imagery and sonority.
