Valehtelijan peruukki

Kasarmikatu 46-48, 00130 Helsinki
Savoy Theatre

“I’m laughing because I love you so much and I didn’t realise it until now.”

In 2009, KOM-teatteri premiered the “Odotus” (“Expectation”) theatre performance, a biographical work about Pirkko Saisio and Marja Packalén. A new documentary work by the same people, “Valehtelijan peruukki” (“The Liar’s Wig) is a performance about remembering and becoming oneself.

In “Valehtelijan peruukki”, Saisio and Packalén play situations from their own lives, turning points in relationships, professional blunders, moments of self-degradation, states of ecstasy and experiences of the sanctity of life.

In this performance, Pirkko Saisio and Marja Packalén are ten years closer to death than they were in the previous one. How have the characters been affected by ageing and the fact that they are getting to the point where they know more people who are dead than alive?
