Waltteri Torikka

In the concert, baritone Waltteri Torikka and pianist Marko Hilpo perform Finnish composer Oskar Merikanto's most loved songs and previously unreleased songs.

Merikanto's beloved music and rare treasures are interwoven into a fascinating, approximately one hour long musical ensemble. 

Waltteri Torikka and Marko Hilpo have gone through the composer's entire solo vocal output, which contains about 160 songs, and built the whole to honor the versatile output of the most popular Finnish-language classical solo vocal composer of all time.

Waltteri Torikka and Marko Hilpo have made a close musical collaboration and have held recitals all over Finland as a lied duo for ten years and have also performed together in other orchestra ensembles of different sizes.
