At the end of the 18th century, winds developed at a tremendous pace in search of roles in the symphony orchestra suitable for their distinctive colours. At the same time, their chamber musical possibilities expanded, which inspired composers to write familiar textures from wind quartet for wind ensembles.
The concert features quintet repertoire from the early 19th century with historic wind instruments - with all their colors, rosettes and temperaments.
The program includes music e.g. from composers Anton Reicha (1770–1836), Franz Danzi (1763–1826), Giuseppe Cambini (c.1746 – c.1820) and Friedrich Kuhlau (1786–1832).
