Etelä-Helsingin kansalaisopisto: Lasten monitaidekerho 10–12-vuotiaille – Children’s Multi-Art Club for Ages 10–12 – 10–12-year-olds, born 2014-2016

Welcome to a multi-art club where previous skills do not matter – it’s all about enthusiasm and the desire to create.

Working with materials, planning, experimenting, playfulness and taking time to pause in the moment create a wonderful opportunity for artistic and craft-based expression on Wednesday afternoons. This creative course for children does not require previous experience in crafts or visual arts. An interest in hands-on creative making is enough. We make versatile use of recycled materials in the club. We usually work on the same project over 1–3 club sessions. Techniques include, for example, collage, drawing, painting, sculpting, hand embroidery, braiding and other yarn-based techniques. The course content is also shaped by listening to the children’s wishes. The course is suitable for children aged 10–12 who can work in a group following the teacher’s instructions. One can also participate with a personal assistant. Course is taught in Finnish.
