The City of Helsinki offers free event listings on the MyHelsinki.fi event calendar for happenings taking place in Helsinki, Espoo, and Vantaa. The event information will also appear on digital platforms that utilise the Linked Events API , helping it reach a broader audience.However, only the events located in Helsinki will be downloaded in the Helsinki City event calendar.

Want to showcase your event on MyHelsinki? Please ensure that it meets the following criteria before submission. We want to make sure all listed events are relevant, well-prepared, and beneficial for both visitors and residents of Helsinki.
The City of Helsinki publishes information of events in Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa on MyHelsinki.fi event calendar for free. The event information will also appear on digital platforms that utilise the Linked Events API . However, only the events located in Helsinki will be downloaded in the Helsinki City event calendar.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for publication on MyHelsinki’s event calendar, your event must:
- Be of interest to tourists and local residents Events should appeal to a wide audience, including international and domestic visitors.
- Take place within the capital region Locations must be in Helsinki, Espoo, or Vantaa. Events in Kauniainen, Porvoo, or other areas outside the capital region are not eligible.
- Not already be published Duplicate entries will not be approved. Please check the current calendar to avoid resubmissions: MyHelsinki Event Calendar
- Have sufficient lead time Submit your event well in advance. We are unable to publish last-minute events (e.g. happening the next day).
- Include a multilingual description Provide event details in Finnish and English. Swedish is recommended when applicable. Finnish-only descriptions are acceptable for language-specific content (e.g. theatre, lectures).
- Be professionally written Text must be free of typos and avoid clichés, superlatives, and subjective language. Do not use “we” when referring to the organiser—this implies the City of Helsinki and can cause confusion.
- Be complete All required fields must be filled out. Submissions lacking a title, start/end date, image, or other key information cannot be published.
Events not eligible for publication
The following types of events will not be included in the calendar:
- Political events (e.g. demonstrations, events related to elections or geopolitical conflicts)
- Religious gatherings (e.g. church services, prayers; concerts in religious venues are accepted)
- Online-only events with no connection to Helsinki or the capital region
- Events in private homes or not accessible to the public
- Closed events (e.g. members-only events)
- Fundraising events without a public programme
- Recruitment announcements (job or student)
- Courses, workshops, or hobby groups (City of Helsinki publishes hobbies and courses on the Hobbies-website: harrastukset.hel.fi/en). For more information and instructions on how to submit hobbies, please contact harrastukset@hel.fi)
