East Helsinki Book Fair
Sep 26, 2026 | 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Turunlinnantie 1, 00900 Helsinki
The East Helsinki Book Fair is a celebration of literature for the whole of East Helsinki: for all book lovers, curious readers and anyone interested in literature.
Authors, publishers and booksellers, along with a programme of discussions, come together under one roof for a single Saturday, for an audience of all ages.
The programme covers topics including East Helsinki, multilingualism, comics and translation. Throughout the day, we listen to discussions, meet authors and reflect together on what people in East Helsinki are reading right now. We also have a programme of activities and workshops for younger visitors throughout the afternoon.
On the sales tables in the lobby, you can find books, magazines and other printed materials from publishers both major and minor.
The Book Fair’s evening programme is kicked off by the literary art duo Marjo Niemi and Eeva Turunen, and the evening culminates in a performance by Asa, a pioneer of Finnish-language rap. Tickets for the evening programme will go on sale during the summer.
The East Helsinki Book Fair is organised in collaboration with the Helsinki Book Fair, which takes place at the Messukeskus exhibition centre in October. The event is organised by the Nuoren Voiman Liitto in collaboration with Stoa and Itäkeskus Library.
