Depa Kollektiivi: Mental Space
Nov 6 – 28, 2026
Mosaiikkitori 2, 00980 Helsinki
Mental health challenges are varied and can affect anyone, at any time. It is important to be treated with genuine respect and as a whole person.
How can we make the invisible visible through art?
The main themes of our exhibition are the mental health crisis, mental health and substance abuse problems, stigma, socially sustainable development, and equality and participation. The aim of our multi-voiced exhibition is to provoke thoughts, emotions, questions and discussion on a topical and important issue and on the state of our society.
This series of works gives a voice to the experts of organisations, other mental health and substance abuse professionals and those who are familiar with mental health and substance abuse problems in their everyday lives. We want to promote dialogue and raise awareness. We aim to dismantle the stigma surrounding these themes and the culture of silence. The need for help is growing. What is key is our society’s readiness and willingness to identify and address the root causes of problems and to respond to the need for help. We need a human approach and empathy.
“By failing to safeguard the foundations of our society, we are increasing our debt caused by human suffering. The cost of indifference cannot be measured solely in euros, as we are constantly losing mental capital. Not to mention that human life is invaluable.”
