Light 1185 Candles With Us
Oct 31, 2026 | 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Old Church Park – Ruttopuisto
Bulevardi, 00120 Helsinki
With the help of the public, 1185 grave candles will be lit in the Old Church Park in Helsinki – one for every person who died of the plague in Helsinki in the autumn of 1710.
Come and light a candle, for the plague victims or for someone you miss yourself. Candles will be handed out in the park.
During the evening, sounds from Yle’s audio drama “Voices from the Plague” will echo through the park, in Finnish and Swedish.
