Yrjönkatu swimming hall was closed on 31 December 2023 for a renovation. According to preliminary plans, the hall will be reopened to the public in early 2026.
Yrjönkatu swimming hall, completed in 1928, is the first and oldest public swimming pool in Finland. The pool building was designed by architect Väinö Vähäkallio, representing the classicism of the 1920s. Yrjönkatu swimming hall has cultural and historical value and its pool premises offer a traditional spa atmosphere.
You can swim in the swimming pool of Yrjönkatu swimming hall with or without a swimsuit, and there are separate swimming times for men and women on different days of the week. The pool staff includes both women and men during both swimming times and during all opening hours.
Photography is prohibited throughout the premises of Yrjönkatu swimming hall. The swimming hall subscribes to the principles for safer spaces.
