Church of the Deaconess Foundation

Alppikatu 2, 00530 Helsinki

Kallio

The DeaconessFoundation Church in Helsinki’s Kallio district conveys the Christian message that forms the foundation of the Foundation’s work. It also provides a setting for cultural events and an atmospheric space for family ceremonies. Communion wafers baked in the Institute’s own bakery are served during Holy Communion. The church was consecrated in 1898 and designed by Baron and architect K.A. Wrede. The church is open to visitors Monday through Friday from 9.00 to 15.00, except in July (exceptions are possible).
