90 Day Finn is a Helsinki business expansion program. It’s for global tech companies who are interested in expanding their company or R&D to Finland. Read on to find out answers to frequently asked questions and if this program is suitable for your goals.

Is it right for me?

The 90 Day Finn Program is accepting participants from global tech companies who are looking to establish a subsidiary or expand their R&D operations to the Nordics.

What is the application process like?

The 90 Day Finn applications are a simple 3-step process:

  1. Apply online between 15 December 2025 – 28 February 2026.
  2. Shortlist interviews in February–March 2026 – Max 15 participants will be selected.
  3. Final selection in March–April 2026.

Is there an application fee?

No, there is no application fee for the program. It is sponsored by the City of Helsinki.

However, participants are responsible for their own expenses including travel, visa applications, living costs, and personal expenses.

Do I need to stay in Helsinki for 90 days?

You don’t! The 90 Day Finn program is tailored to the busy schedules of the participants, which is why the program begins with a 4-week intensive immersion and continues with an optional extension, where you may stay the full 3 months. The extension allows you to deepen your new connections and and continue developing your business with the support of your local business advisor. No company relocation is required — just an exploratory stay in Helsinki.

What do I need to know about living in Helsinki?

Helsinki is an affordable and well-connected city. The local bus, tram, train, and metro system cover the whole city. The city centre is very walkable. You can easily manage your life without a car. However, for day trips you can easily rent a car or use a car-sharing service.

How many times has 90 Day Finn been organised?

The 90 Day Finn Program has been organised yearly since 2021.

How many participants are there in the 90 Day Finn Program?

Each year, 10–15 participants are selected to become 90 Day Finns.

What is the 90 Day Finn Alumni Network?

All 90 Day Finn participants become alumni and gain access to the network for free. So far, there are more than 50 alumni. The network is informal and casual, encouraging participants to maintain contact via messages and calls even after their stay in Helsinki. Many alumni have found common and complementary business interests, helping each other grow. Occasionally, the network gathers in Helsinki or abroad to connect old and new alumni. Who organises 90 Day Finn?

The program is organised by Helsinki Partners, the city-owned company for international investment attraction and city marketing. We provide tailored, free-of-charge services to international companies exploring growth, innovation, and expansion in Helsinki, supporting the sustainable growth of Helsinki. Attending the program is free-of-charge, sponsored by the city of Helsinki. However, participants cover their own travel, accommodation and living expenses during the program.
