FuOHealth: where Indian investment meets Finnish innovation
In spring 2025, the India-based investor backed FuOHealth, a Finnish MedTech learning enablement startup co-founded by Ashwin Sivakumar and Henry Anttonen. The company builds engagement, learning, and enablement solutions that help MedTech and HealthTech companies grow, onboard customers, and train partners and distributors.
This investment demonstrates a winning formula: combining Helsinki’s R&D and innovation strengths with an international outlook and collaborative approach. This builds companies ready for global impact.
“Building a sustainable and scalable startup is a marathon. Helsinki gives you the balance and clarity to run it well.”

Why Helsinki stands out to Indian investors
For Rajesh, the decision to invest in this Helsinki MedTech enablement start-up came down to four core factors: a thriving innovation ecosystem, a strong founding team–market fit, streamlined business processes, and quality of life that supports sustainable growth.
A booming market for MedTech innovation
Helsinki’s HealthTech ecosystem and strong innovation culture impressed Rajesh. “I believe in supporting good people. FuOHealth has an excellent team with energy and integrity in a country that strongly supports innovation and access to markets.”
“When you look at success stories like Oura, you see how Finland already produces new-age MedTech leaders.”
Initiatives like Health Capital Helsinki, Health Incubator Helsinki, and close ties to universities give Helsinki MedTech startups access to world-class research, health data, and AI capabilities. Plus, Finland ranks among the highest in Europe for R&D spending relative to GDP and has some of the lowest corruption rates. “When you look at success stories like Oura, you see how Finland already produces new-age MedTech leaders,” adds Rajesh.
FuOHealth has already tapped into Helsinki’s supportive Healthtech ecosystem, winning the Business Turku Startup Call 2023 and graduating from the Turku BusinessUp and Helsinki Incubator Nexus programs. The start-up is also backed by Softlandia, a Tampere-based deep-tech and AI venture studio. “There’s a supportive ecosystem here, from grants to R&D to commercialisation,” says Ashwin. “Helsinki has all the ingredients to bring the next wave of MedTech innovation out of Finland. We are on a mission to help MedTechs institutionalise knowledge and scale impact.”
(Surprisingly) smooth investment process
International investors often expect complex bureaucracy when entering a new market, but Rajesh found his first investment in Helsinki surprisingly smooth.
“I was amazed at the speed at which Finland operates—the whole approval process, automated systems, and the ease of doing business.”
Helsinki’s cost-efficiency for business setup adds another advantage. And the multilingual, highly skilled Finnish workforce makes communication easy.
“I had no issues communicating with anyone on the FuOHealth team. It may sound like a small thing, but it makes a big difference,” says Rajesh.
Work-life balance as a foundation for success
Helsinki’s appeal goes beyond business infrastructure. By supporting founders’ well-being, the city fosters long-term entrepreneurial success.
“Building a high-tech startup is hard and comes with risks,” says Rajesh. “Having work-life balance reduces some of that pressure and helps founders build sustainable businesses.”
Ashwin agrees, adding his personal perspective: “Building a sustainable and scalable startup needs a marathon mindset. At this point in my life with a young kid, I needed a strong founder-market fit. Entrepreneurship is a long game, and you need to be at your best. Helsinki helps you find that balance.”
R&D meets market scale: The Finland–India advantage
The FuOHealth investment shows how Finland and India can combine their strengths to spark innovation, drive job growth, and build globally competitive companies.
“While Finland scores in innovation, R&D, and ecosystem support, India scores in having a large talent pool, speed, agility, a great global IT backbone, and a huge domestic market,” explains Rajesh.
Ashwin sees a natural synergy between the two countries. “Finland and India both have an immense talent pool, an appetite for innovation, and ambitious markets. There’s so much potential in combining these strengths to build for the world.”
My travels to India and meetings with the companies there have convinced me of what a great match India and Finland are. Helsinki Partners is the contact point for international growth companies and investors who look for innovation partners. The local networks such as Health Capital Helsinki welcome collaborators for the creation of global wellbeing.

Up next: Global MedTech growth
As a technology-first start-up, FuOHealth has been global from day one. With roots in the Helsinki HealthTech ecosystem, the company is now preparing to scale across key markets, including the US, UK, the Middle East, and India.
Ashwin explains, “Our focus is on further structuring a strong core team, running pilots, and growing our core advisory pool. It is the most important startup phase when you move from the problem fit to a solution-market fit with the right market access and co-venturers in constrained environments.
Bringing founder-focused, credible early backers like Rajesh is crucial to navigating these formative phases. This year is about laying the groundwork, and next year, we aim to deliver and scale globally.”
Henry Anttonen, co-founder of FuOHealth, adds: “I am excited to be building FuOHealth alongside a seasoned international co-founder and a reputable early backer—uniting cross-cultural grit, fresh mindsets, and a collaborative spirit to build at a global standard. Helsinki Partners has been instrumental in bringing us together. We have ambitious plans for our startup. Other than the EU, we are beginning to have conversations with ecosystem players in key markets like the US and India.”
Rajesh sees big potential in the company. “I’m glad to see how the Helsinki Partners ecosystem has been supporting FuOHealth in its preparatory phase. Backing resilient, high-potential journeys early is what builds speed, sustainability, and scale. I look forward to collaborating and making this a benchmark seed-to-success story. FuOHealth has all the right ingredients.”
