The Becoming panel discussionTuesday 8 September 5–6.45 pm

HAM will be hosting the Becoming panel discussion on questions related to corporeality, love, coexistence and the healing of traumas during Pride Week. The panel will be moderated by Pia Puu Oksanen, with Pauliina Feodoroff, Maru Hietala and Annu Kemppainen as the panellists. The Gustafsson&Haapoja: Museum of Becoming exhibition is currently on display at HAM, and artists Laura Gustafsson and Terike Haapoja will be giving an introduction to the theme of the panel by talking about the background of the Becoming piece. About the panellists:Pia Puu Oksanen – psychotherapist and professional feminist working for Amnesty International; Pauliina Feodoroff – director, scriptwriter and leader of the Miltä sopu näyttää project striving towards participatory co-operation between authorities, researchers and Sámi people; Maru Hietala – human rights activist and worker at the Helsinki Deaconess Institute; Annu Kemppainen – community educator and cultural producer specialising in LGBTQI and equality issues.

Queer introduction to the Tove galleryFri 11 September 4.30 pm

The introduction will present stories behind Tove Jansson’s frescos and Jansson’s work from a queer perspective. The duration of the introduction will be approximately 45 minutes, and it will be given in Finnish by Satu Sipilä.

Queer introduction to the Genderfuck 1900 exhibitionFri 11 September 5.30 pm

This conversational introduction by two guides well versed in LGBTIQ themes will discuss gender diversity through the works of the Genderfuck 1900 exhibition. The duration of the Finnish-language introduction will be approximately 45 minutes. It will be given by Kaura Raudaskoski and Satu Sipilä.
