Giants of U.K. Rockabilly! – Featuring Darrel Higham and Graham Fenton (Matchbox)

This will be a night to remember for lovers of good old-fashioned rock & roll. The raucous rockabilly show will take us back to the time of Elvis, Gene Vincent and Little Richard, with the limelight on two of the most famous names in the genre: Graham Fenton (Matchbox) and Darrell Higham.

Graham Fenton has truly earned his stripes as a rocker. He even played a tour with Gene Vincent in 1971. Together with his band Matchbox, he released a number of well-known hits in the late 70s, such as ‘Rockabilly Rebel’, ‘Buzz Buzz A Diddle It’, ‘Love's Made A Fool Of You’ and ‘Midnight Dynamos’. Fenton is one of the last true legends of rock & roll. He has never bowed down to commercialism and is an embodiment of uncompromising rock attitude – the real deal all the way. We are very proud to have him perform at Savoy Theatre for the very first time.

Darrell Higham is another musician who needs no introduction. A rocker through and through who has been involved in defining the genre since the 80s with his handsome looks, dazzling Gretch sound and thrillingly raw singing chops. He has also worked with many other artists, such as Jeff Beck and Imelda May, who he was married to some years ago. Higham is also known as a fan of the late great Gene Vincent, and classics such as ‘C'mon Everbody’ and ‘Summertime Blues’ will be sure to have the Savoy audience rocking on this special night..

The show will mark the very first time these members of rock and roll royalty perform together to put on a performance that will blow everyone’s socks off. Both Darrell Higham and Graham Fenton want the experience to be something very special for the Finnish fans. The artists will be performing their own hits and songs often linked to them, along with some surprise numbers. This will be a one-off show specifically designed for Savoy, so we strongly recommend those interested to attend. The unforgettable night will be something to see for yourself to truly experience the power of two legendary rockers who are still at the top of their game.
