Chamber Music Concert: Brother and Sister

FRSO violist Camilla Vikman was inspired by the E-flat string quartet by Hanny Mendelssohn-Hensel and decided to build a programme round it. “The four-movement quartet is full of feeling, momentum and rapture,” she says. 

With it she has coupled a piano trio by Fanny’s little brother Felix and some songs composed by them but in instrumental versions. The concert begins with a string quartet by the young Sofia Suvilehto that was premiered at Musica nova Helsinki in 2025.
